Function: Electrical Design Engineer
Education: Secondary Vocational Education (MBO) – BSc (HBO) – MSc
Hours: Full-time
Location: Culemborg, The Netherlands
THE FUNCTION
You will apply your expertise to help design, build and test QuinteQ Flywheel Sodium Ion Battery Hybrid Energy Storage Systems for customer projects and/or product lines. Fundamental technology improvements will be implemented in each successive version. Hence new models and drawings, or modifications of existing ones, are needed.
You will be part of a small multidisciplinary team and hence the range of your tasks will be broad & varied, and your ability to apply your talents & initiatives in fulfilling the expectations will have a visible impact on product and company success.
Working in a small team means your deliverables will have an inevitable significant impact on the product. You are up for this challenge and eager to contribute going through different phases of the product design process.
Your responsibilities will be:
- Design the electrical aspects of the sodium ion battery container system
- Contribute to the electrical architecture and translate into designs
- Detail design electrical system and component selection (cables, connectors, switches, fuses, control SW/HW)
- Design and implement PCBs when needed
- Define and run tests
- Support hands on assembly activities
- Suggest improvements/solutions/components
YOU ARE:
… a candidate that takes initiative and ownership, is pragmatic, conscientious and feels comfortable with prioritizing on a regular basis. Someone who is proactive, has a ‘can-do’ attitude, and doesn’t mind getting her/his hands dirty.
We are looking for the following qualities:
- Proven electrical design record, preferably in power electronics
- Electrical engineering degree BSc/MSc
- A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
- Affinity with battery pack and container design and/or fire suppression systems is a big plus
- An eye for detail but pragmatic
- Solution-oriented and result driven in the product development process
- Proficient in English both written and verbal. Dutch is a nice-to-have, but not required
